01 · The foundation
Built to close the clinical learning gap.
MedHand began as a medical club at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr School of Medicine in 2021. Its purpose was direct: give medical students more opportunities to practise, ask questions, and learn skills in a supportive environment.
Within two academic years, the team trained more than 500 students from four universities and delivered over 18 specialized courses. That momentum led MedHand to become a recognized non-governmental organization in 2023.

Medical students and junior doctors lead an active community spanning medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and nursing. Every experience is designed around ethical practice, useful feedback, and skills that transfer into real care.
